A bright, colorful Italian restaurant, Ideale is the modern version of a traditional Roman trattoria. It is “festive and boisterous…la vera cucina italiana.”
Ideale has been bringing Rome to North Beach for 30 years now (!) with it’s highly acclaimed chef, Maurizio Bruschi. Maurizio hails from 4 generations of Roman chefs, lovingly taught by his grandma, Serafina. Maurizio previously opened three other successful Italian restaurants in San Francisco: “Bonta'”, “Frascati” and “Pazzia.” and is the co-owner of “Piccolo Forno” in North Beach and “Serafina” on Nob Hill.
The pastas, breads & desserts at Ideale are all homemade & the ingredients are locally sourced and hand-picked daily. Our ingredients are only of the highest quality, are mostly organic and the only oil used is premium Italian extra-virgin olive oil. We were one of the first to bring authentic Italian cuisine to San Francisco including our thin-crusted pizza made with imported “Fior di Latte” mozzarella and traditional Roman dishes like “Spaghetti alla Carbonara” and “Bucatini all’Amatriciana.”
